Monthly Member Meeting Minutes
May 20, 2008

Opening:
The regular meeting of the Kings Beach Parents’ Co-op was called to order at 6pm May 20th, 2008 in Incline Village by Sabrina Gentner.

Present:
Sabrina, Lorelei, Shiloh, Amy, Janet, Heidi, Trish, Cammie, Kristen, Bob, Sam, Kirstin

A. Approval of Agenda
The agenda was unanimously approved as distributed.

B. Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the previous meeting were unanimously approved via e-mail.

C. Open Issues

I. Fundraisers
• Arbonne: May 29. Bring a friend!
• Garage Sale: June 7. Start bringing donations to the shed
II. Bylaw Changes
• Part-time openings discontinued (option: family share)
• Returning members pay renewal fee (not new application)
• Manual now reflects changes regarding long-term absences
III. K-Readiness program will end at 3:00pm daily beginning 9/08
IV. PM Daycare program canceled
V. Kindergarten Program
• General Fund for BOTH PK and K
• Itemized
VI. Enrollment for 08-09
• Full in AM and PM programs
VII. Board Meetings
• New members must attend all board meetings and classes
• Returning members must attend all board meetings and 5 classes

D. New Business

I. Board Discussions
• Families with more than one child enrolled (i.e. twins)
- Discussion included time vs. money. Kirstin stated that the time was more taxing. Cammie suggested a rotation for extra shifts. Sam contributed good math! Sabrina suggested utilizing volunteers from SNC or HS. Janet suggested a 'sub bank' where you 'buy' or 'sell' the extra day created when parents of multiple kids are only working once/week.
• Board Officer positions available
- Secretary: OPEN
- President: Sam has been nominated, seconded and appointed!! Yippee!
II. A member mentioned that dishes were being left in sink from Afternoon Program. Mentioned noted.

Adjournment:
Meeting was adjourned at 7:20pm by Lorelei. The next general meeting will be August 15th, 2008 in Kings Beach.

February 5, 2008

The regular meeting of the Kings Beach Parent’s Co-op was called to order at 6pm on February 5th, 2008 in Incline Village by Sabrina Gentner.

Present:
Shiloh, Amy, Cammie, Sabrina, Lorelei, Lisa, Kristen, Kirstin

A. Approval of Agenda
The agenda was unanimously approved as distributed.

B. Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the previous meeting were unanimously approved via e-mail.

C. Open Issues

I. Snow Days: If TTUSD is closed, KBPC is closed as well. 2-hour delay - no morning program, but afternoon program WILL happen
Websites:
www.ttusd.org (snowflake on the lower left of homepage or tab at the top)
www.washoe.k12.nv.us (news releases on right side of homepage)
Incline’s cancellation does not affect the coop but is often consistent.
II. Fundraisers:
• Usborne Book Fair: Lorelei (cancelled)
• Arbonne (with Janene) Sabrina will host. Date in May TBA
• Chocolates (with Carina Cutler) needs host
• Send Out Cards: Lisa… try it out (see business card for site address) Lisa will donate proceeds to KBCoop. Date/deadline in March TBA
Discussion: Where does money go? General Fund: “loosely earmarked” for utilities, insurance, etc. Will be used for carryover/gaps in tuition
III. Missed Board Meetings:
Three missed meetings require members to make up the time via educational workshops (Kirstin)
IV. Snack Committee:

D. New Business

I. Signups for Seasonal Programs (9-11:45/12)
Ski-skate Week:
Mon/Tues: Cooking (Jen/Kirstin) 10 kids/2-6 yrs
Wed/Fri: Yoga (Sabrina) 10 kids/3-7 yrs
II. Holding a spot: (tabled)
Family absences… issues include liability (adult/child ratio), coverage responsibility, wait-listed families
III. Sign in sheet: group decided that parent making snack will update the sign-in list during free play after all kids have arrived. (for safety reasons)
IV. Toy safety committee: Cammie defined terms (plastics) and showed video regarding dangers
associated with plastics
